Florence Raymond, 79 Florence “Flossie” Raymond, 79, of Mann Court in Claremont, NH, died on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. She was born in Stockbridge, VT, on July 4, 1933, the daughter of Lawrence and Marion (Luce) Whitcomb. She was a graduate of Whitcomb High School in Bethel, VT in the Class of 1952. Flossie was an accomplished knitter, baker and gardener, but her family was the love of her life. She married Leland Raymond on July 5, 1953. The family includes her husband, Leland E. Raymond, Sr. of Claremont; three sons, Leland E. Raymond, Jr. and his wife, Vicki H., Keith E. Raymond and his wife, Alison and Gary L. Raymond and his wife, Vicki C., all of Claremont; two daughters; Michelle Desbiens and her husband, Allen of Concord and Tamara Raymond of Claremont; a sister, Evelyn Folsom of Pittsfield, VT; two brothers, Newton Whitcomb and Norman Whitcomb of Bethel, VT; nine grandchildren, Scott Raymond, Staci Avery, Shannon Mathieu, Susan Kangas, Tyler Raymond, Matt Steele, Jonas Steele, Audrey Desbiens and John Desbiens; seven great grandchildren, River Mathieu, Lucas Mathieu, Hayley Avery, Sienna Kangas, Grayer Kangas, Fallon Lavertue and Stella Lavertue. She was preceded in death by a brother, Victor Whitcomb. Friends and family may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Saturday, June 15th from 1 to 3PM. Funeral services will be at 3:00PM at the Stringer Funeral Home with a reception to follow at Arrowhead Lodge on Easter Way. Burial will be held at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery in Rochester, VT.
