Florida Eyewear Musings: As a little girl, I always wanted to wear glasses, but I was *cursed* with good vision (when Im not having ocular migraines). As it turns out, I look horrible in glasses unless they have big frames to minimize my nose, which looks HUGE in glasses. Well, I forgot my sunglasses at home and its been sunny, so my mom found a funky green pair that she thought Id like. I tried them on and they were okay, but maybe just a little Elton John-ish. I still got them and bought a purple pair for 1/2 off. The more I look at them, the more I see Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka, but my mom says they suit me...ha...Johnny is one of her faves! Then, we were also on the hunt for swim goggles, not because I am going swimming (ha!), but because my mom, a registered nurse who specialized in ophthalmology, thinks it would help with my blepharitis. Whats that? Its a non-contagious eye condition Ive been suffering from for the last few months. Its bacterial in nature but can also be caused by the skin condition rosacea (which I also suffer from). Anyways, my moms theory is that my eyes are sensitive to my piggies and she encouraged me to try wearing swim goggles when I am in an uber-piggy-snuggling mood (ALWAYS!). Hmmm...I gotta love my mom, but so far today shes convinced me to buy three pieces of wacky eyewear...I hope shes not in on some big April Fools Day hoax. :o)
