Focus T25 done and in the books (Alpha and Beta). I struggled with - TopicsExpress

Focus T25 done and in the books (Alpha and Beta). I struggled with this workout from the beginning. Coming off P90X3 I was under the impression I was superman, so I didnt need to modify anything. After a week of some pretty amazing shin splints, I started to modify. My spindly little calves are not meant to hop up and down like some bionic bunny rabbit. I modified, my knees went higher, but I cut out the bounces in between transitions. Life got so much better and I dug in and really enjoyed the program. I went to the Beachbody Summit during my last week of Alpha phase so I hit Beta hard. The motivation from summit helped my push through increased intensity between Alpha and Beta. I had a blast in Beta. Speed 2.0 is one of my favorite workouts ever! RipT circuit made me shiver, but by the last day, I fully appreciated what it did for me. Focus T25 is a great program for any fitness level. Do what they say and watch Tonya for the modifiers. Moving and doing something is the best way to get to the next level. Could I do all the moves perfectly by the end? Of course not. I have tight hamstrings so the alternating straight leg lifts gave me fits. I was also extremely averse to the hop hop squats for some weird reason. In 10 weeks I went from 215 pounds to 198 pounds for a total weight loss of 17 pounds. My body fat dropped from 27% to 18%. I noticed very little change in my biceps, but my triceps and pecs got much better. The biggest transformation was in my lower body. My thighs and calves are still bird like, but they are high def bird like now. I dont recall ever seeing my thigh muscles before. The core is were I was most impressed. I ended up with nice cuts on the outside of my abs, and nice cut down the center of my stomach and a slight outline of each of the 3 sets of horizontal abs. During the last week of my work out I caught a reflection in some glass and actually saw my abs churning away under my diminished tummy fat. That pushed me on even harder. Overall, I really liked this workout. It was fun, fast paced and Shaun T did a good job explaining the moves and keeping me motivated when I really needed it. I slacked a bit on my nutrition during this workout, so I really struggled with my weight going down. What I did notice was my core kept getting firmer and firmer, despite my weight remaining the same. I will take packing on muscle over just dropping weight any day. If you are looking for something to kick start your weight loss and raise your fitness level, I highly recommend Focus T25.
