Foiled again. I tried to buy the Kindle edition of the French - TopicsExpress

Foiled again. I tried to buy the Kindle edition of the French edition of Pikettys Capital in the 21st Century to read on my iPad mini this summer in Paris, ideally on a bench in le Jardin du Luxembourg under a shade tree. It seems that I cant quite get there from here. The Amazon Kindle store here in the US doesnt have it - I can get the Kindle English edition, and even the Kindle Portuguese edition, but not the Kindle French edition. Amazon.fr has the Kindle French edition but they wont let me buy it because Im a stinking American. How do you say FUBAR in French? If I wait until I get to Paris and try again, do you think Amazon.fr might be fooled into thinking Im a deserving Frenchman? Notes: I want the Kindle edition because the physical book is too heavy to drag around Paris, and because I can tap words to look up their definitions so I dont need a dictionary. In theory at least. Note: I want the French edition because its better to read books in their original language, which is French in this case. And because I want to be able to brag. Why, yes, Ive read Piketty, in French of course!
