Folks, I am writing to you all once again to let you know the latest and most up to date information regarding the case that we have. We can confirm the following: 1: Mahmoud Bazzi remains in custody in the United States as he has been since July 15th this year. 2: The deportation order remains in force and enforcement will take place once all the necessary administrative procedures and relevant documentation is completed between the United States and Lebanon. 3: The Minister of Defence and senior Irish diplomats are traveling to Lebanon imminently and will be meeting the appropriate Lebanese authorities to discuss the case in detail. 4: In advance of this mission we can also confirm that The Taoiseach has personally wrote to the appropriate Lebanese authorities regarding the case to ensure justice is finally done in connection to the deaths and wounding of our comrades on the 18th April 1980. As you can appreciate from the above information a lot of work has, and continues to be done at the highest levels by the Irish Government. This is both appropriate and positive and a clear indication of their commitment to securing justice , something not matter what our individual politics or opinions are we must acknowledge and support. It is extremely important at this very sensitive time that we remain calm and maintain what has allowed us to get to where we are now, which is our Discipline,Integrity,Dignity and respect for the Defence Forces in which we all served. I want to thank all of our supporters here in Ireland and overseas for your continued support and patience, as we have always said, you are the campaign and what we achieved we have done together. We continue to engage in this process at the highest level and are committed to doing everything possible to bring this tragic event to a closure which will represent the best possible justice that is legally attainable at this time. To close I would again ask everyone to step back and reflect on what we have achieved , something many thought impossible and would never happen. Well I am proud to say it has, and we have clearly demonstrated what can be done with a definite mission and a disciplined approach to completing it. This has been a year in which we have done something of huge significance and importance and it should not be underestimated the result we have achieved after 34 yrs. We stand closer than ever to securing justice for Derek, Thomas and John. Well done everyone, it has been my privilege to be part of this campaign alongside you all. Again I would respectfully ask that we do not engage in any inappropriate comments that may be damaging to the continued work we are engaged in, our credibility and respect this campaign has gained by our disciplined actions to date.
