Folks I retired from the Harris County Sheriffs Office a little - TopicsExpress

Folks I retired from the Harris County Sheriffs Office a little over a year ago. Primarily because the once strong, secure area ran by professionals that I had enjoyed working in, had changed drastically. The removal of certified officers from the inmate housing floors and failure to properly recruit and train new civilian jailers is a catastrophic mistake in my opinion. A mistake thats affect will not be fully realized for many years. Like the drought damaging and destroying for years. An improperly trained detention officer is simply a future inmate guarding a current inmate. Training may be expensive. But, I guarantee failure to train will cost a lot more. These new boots stand a great chance of losing their lives and going to prison for mistakes they will make. While the not so much Sheriff, but sure enough politician Adrian Garcia may not be totally to blame - he certainly has some responsibility in it. If he hasnt been photographed more than all other HCSO sheriffs in history combined, ill eat my hat! I hear its in the works to get him out of the Sheriffs Office and into the Mayors Office. Sorry Houston the worst is yet to come. What a shame!
