Folks, I still marvel at Gods Grace. Pastor Prayuth Lahowees wide - TopicsExpress

Folks, I still marvel at Gods Grace. Pastor Prayuth Lahowees wide and I took a taxi all the way to downtown Bangkok and back (probably 20 miles one way) and we survived. So now I have my official work permit to be employed at ARB. Anyway, Ive realized that its almost a full month and Ive yet to see one traffic accident. (To put that in perspective, I recall seeing three pretty gruesome accidents - more than fender benders - in the month before I left the States.) Now, what is truly awesome about that is I started recording specific events I saw on the streets just this morning: motorcycles weaving in and out of cars sitting in traffic jams, our own taxi pulling in and out of a side road parking space to pass the car in front of us, motorcycles and bicycles creating space between vehicles driving down the two lanes of a divided highway, motorcycles also going against traffic in a lane, and traffic creating six lanes when only two were defined. (You get the idea; thats just the tip of the iceberg. Im sure any police officer in the States would have writers cramp big time.) So, I still marvel... Can one claim the Thai drivers are just that much better than Americans? (Any doubts as to why I feel non- confident and may forget about driving here?)
