Folks, Ill be away with less internet access in coming weeks, back briefly near mid-August, then away again in mid-September. Heres a topic to think about (and please, do post about!) from member Cynthia Gees recent comment in another thread. Cindy said, MOST people in most churches are on board with racial equality. Working out from our own inner circles of church (or other organizations) friends, 1. Do you think this applies to your church? 2. Does it apply to your convocation/deanery? 3. How about your Diocese (or other larger polity)? And... heres the kicker... if 1-3 are a YES, how come we still have Racism to end? I certainly agree that progress is happening, and that part of maintaining Racism is fooling us into thinking it has any strength left-- but how come statistics are still so disproportionate? And how do you hope to change that in your own back yard?
