Folks, This is really important.... Tomorrow the hospital leadership is going to make announcement that will make it seem like this issue is over. It is nowhere near over. Things have been quiet for a few days but there has been an enormous amount of behind the scenes work that would not have been possible without the amazing community response. The doctors who resigned in protest did so because of serious leadership issues at the hospital. A culture has developed that leaves the nurses, staff and clinicians feeling insecure. Many fear for their jobs and are silent for fear for their livelihoods. The leadership has failed in its mission spectacularly, the hospital is in shambles, the community is in an uproar, patients are worried about temporary doctors who arent committed to the area. How could hospital leadership do a worse job? We are committed to meaningful leadership transition that will create an environment that will foster excellent and compassionate care. That is, after all, the point. We need to stay focused on the problem. This is not just about the injustice Dr. Redington has suffered. WE NEED TO TAKE OUR HOSPITAL BACK.
