Folks, we have a dilemma. We want to help every dog we can, but we also need to protect our organization from loss. We require a $500 deposit in case our equipment--particularly our cellular trailcam--is damaged or stolen. Private owners and rescues usually have no problem providing a check, which we then tear up when the case is concluded. But then there are orphan dogs--strays with no identified owner to provide the deposit. We never want to hesitate to help them when we can, but theres still the issue of potential loss.
