Follow the journey #4 Why we are building with Bush and Beach again…… Selecting inclusions and colours Having been actively involved in the whole design process and been generally looking around for ideas of what we would like to include in our new house it was great to sign off on our preliminary plans so we could make appointments and start with the serious business of selecting finishes. First port of call for us was Reece plumbing. We had a rough idea of the bigger items we needed from the Wilderness range brochure but just wanted to checkout showers, taps and accessories. So after a fairly short but organized appointment we left Reece armed with brochures of all the different products we had chosen ready for our next stop. The next appointment was at Kauri kitchens, with a fairly intense 2 hours spent with Leonie guiding us through the huge array of cabinets, vanities, bench tops & accessories with a variety of finishes and colours. Having worked through the kitchen, ensuite and bathroom layouts, and thinking we were about finished, Leonie pointed out that we still needed to sort the laundry, study, store cupboards and linen press layouts! Virtually all done but we left with notes to let Kauri know about stoves, range hoods, shelving requirements etc so the quote could be finalised. We finished our fun packed morning meeting with Eileen and Shane at Choices. We were able to confirm the living area flooring, bedroom carpets, wall and floor tiles as well as a couple feature tiles for the showers with them. Eileen then helped us choose a co-ordinating paint colour for the internal walls that would tie in with the palate of colours on all the items we had just picked. Whilst it had been a fairly intense half day, we had a small selection of samples for our cabinets and bench tops, as well as colour charts and chips, making the whole building process seem much closer and definitely more enjoyable.
