Follow-up info about Google UX internships from our Google on Campus night: Thanks for coming to our Google UX event! We hope you enjoyed learning more about some of the UX culture, teams, and projects and how that all fits into everyday life at Google. If you want to continue learning more about User Experience & Design at Google, check out this link https://google/about/careers/teams/engineering/ux/ As a follow up, we are now actively reviewing applications for our various UX roles. Please check out google/careers/students/ for a list of all the various openings we have, and make sure to review the UX specific openings: ● User Experience Design Intern, Summer 2015 - g.co/uxdesignintern ● User Experience Research Intern, Summer 2015 - g.co/uxresearchintern ● User Experience Designer, University Grad - g.co/uxgraddesigner ● User Experience Researcher, University Grad - g.co/uxgradresearcher As a reminder, internship projects are† filled on a rolling basis and we’ll be reviewing internship applications through† Friday¨ December 12th. In general, we highly recommend you apply sooner, rather than later. In order to be formally considered for any of our positions, you must apply online on our student careers site (via the links above). We do not review resumes on your school job portal. Please submit your resume and unofficial transcript as your application and we’ll ask for your portfolio should we decide to move forward. Resume Considerations ● Succinctly describe your role and your contributions/accomplishments how did you lead, partner, or manage projects in successful ways? ● Showcase your work - distinguish between your personal work vs. team/client based projects as this can confuse your story. Most projects have multiple team members with varying contributions. Were you responsible for visual design, interaction, motion, research, etc.? Portfolio Considerations (For Designer roles) ● This is your opportunity to tell your story. You can treat it like a case study, so show us a well rounded, edited portfolio of your work. ● Show process, it’s important to understand how you arrived at a design solution ● Share your insights, tell us what were your challenges, what things you learned along the way ● A good portfolio is not focused purely on making things pretty, but is able to communicate how a problem was solved through their work. ● Share your breadth of abilities show varying techniques and designs instead of projects that all look the same. If you have any questions, feel free to email uxcampus@google . We hope to see your application soon! Thanks! Google Tech University Programs
