Following months of advocacy to eliminate the capacity zone change - TopicsExpress

Following months of advocacy to eliminate the capacity zone change mandated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) that is estimated to cost Central Hudson customers 6-to-10 percent more on energy bills, we have filed a motion requesting that FERC rule on pending petitions and another motion asking FERC to cancel implementation of the new capacity zone altogether. The new capacity zone “will only raise prices for our customers without resolving the underlying energy issues,” said Central Hudson President James P. Laurito. He added: “Electric transmission development is a far superior solution, as it will provide needed energy in the Hudson Valley and lower New York without raising prices, and proceedings to develop those transmission projects are already underway.” Read more about our latest motions regarding the new capacity zone change at centralhudson/about_us/news/may1_14.html.
