Following on from our previous curriculum update we have listened - TopicsExpress

Following on from our previous curriculum update we have listened to your concerns and, as a result of the hard work of our timetabling team; we are delighted to inform you that we will be changing the timetable for current Year 9 and Year 10 only as of Monday 2 June 2014. This will allow students currently in Year 9 to start their GCSE courses early. Year 10 will become known and treated as Year 11 students, increasing the opportunity for students to achieve the best results. To provide continuity, where at all possible, staff who would be teaching your son/daughter in Year 9 and Year 11 in September, have been timetabled to start teaching them from June. As in previous years, Year 12 will begin their A2 courses when they return to us after the AS examinations have finished. Current Year 7 and Year 8 timetables will not be changed until the start of the new academic year in September. This allows students to complete the courses they are studying in the classes to which they are currently assigned. The timetabling team and Heads of Department are working collaboratively to ensure that we significantly reduce the number of split classes from June and September. I am extremely grateful for all their hard work as we seek to provide the best possible opportunities for our students. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs A McNamara (KS3) [email protected] or Mr S Milne (KS4) [email protected].
