Following the resent GSK case of bribery in China, the government has launched new investigations into French pharmaceutical company Sanofi SA. These allegations, which come from an anonymous whistle-blower to 21st Century Business Herald newspaper, claim that Sanofi SA bribed 503 Chinese doctors with around $277,600 of payments to raise sales at 79 hospitals in Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou and Guangzhou in late 2007. Sanofi have reported that it is too early to comment on events that may have occurred in 2007, but have said it has zero tolerance for such unethical practices.
