Following the tragic events of last night everything seems a little different today. The things that seemed so more important to us yesterday now appear a bit more trivial, and the things we often take for granted are a hell of a lot more significant as wake up this morning. Maybe that’s what happens when someone dies, they hang around a little longer and make us see things a little clearer. Seventeen is too young of an age to be having status like this written about them. Last night a life was stolen from a young man and with that, a son, a brother, a boyfriend, a cousin, and a friend. But if what they say is true, a life is not measured in years but in the way we leave a mark on others. And by the out pouring of grief on Facebook this morning alone, it seems some people truly live. I don’t think there is anyone not affected by this devastating news, and my thoughts are with the Harris, Squires, and Gillingham family at this time.
