Folye Cup 2014 Don Boscos Colts v’s Top of The Hill Celtic (Final score 1 – 1) Following defeat in their first group game it was always going to be an uphill battle for the Colts to get motivated for this one. However the boys dug deep and within minute of the start Ryan Mc Creadie was brought down inside the box earning the Bosco’s a penalty. Mc Creadie subsequently stepped up to take the spot kick which he coolly slotted past the Celtic keeper. 1-0 Boscos. Boscos defence held on despite the onslaught of shots being peppered from Celtic at the man of the match Boscos goalkeeper Eamon Barr. Gritty performances in the midfield by Tommy and Tiernan and stout performances by Fergal, Daryl and Sean Sweeney ensured the Boscos finished the first half in front. The second half saw Boscos coming close with Sean Mc Carron, Olivia Melarkey, Jack Mc Allister and Josh Friel offering the Boscos defence some breathing space by providing outlets and holding the ball up well. Despite their second half performance the Celtic managed to squeeze the ball past the Boscos keeper to equalise in the dying minutes. Boscos players walked of the pitch with an air of confidence which they would surely bring into their next game in the later kick-off against Lifford Celtic.
