Food From the oxford: any nutritious substance that people or animals eat or drink or that plants absorb in order to maintain life and growth. We dont eat food anymore. What we eat (mostly, and in general) is a poor representation of food. It looks like it, but some foods may as well be a piece of plastic, or a good swig of roundup. Think of how long the human body has been growing and evolving along with organic (another word for natural) produce, gm free produce, and meat that wasnt factory farmed. In only a few generations of the million or so years humans have existed, weve began eating things that resemble a chemistry experiment. Take meat for instance. Have we always eaten factory farmed animals pumped with growth hormones and antibiotics, that were then washed in all sorts of chemicals? Did we always eat minced up seconds pre packaged as chicken nuggets and sausages? How long have we been eating carcinogenic roundup? Plants that have genes that kill bugs on contact? Were literally a science experiment. And preliminary results are quite obvious: its totally messing us up in a vast array of diseases. Seeing as theres huge profits to be made from us consuming this poisonous food, the changes arent gonna come from our govt or the corporations that perpetuate this. Its gotta come from us. The individual person.
