Food for the Soul: Friday, January 30,2015 Proverbs 15:1. A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. Thought for the Day: Your Words Have Power. Reflection for the Day: Choose To Bring Calm Not Anger. The words that we choose to use have impact. Solomon declared in the proverb that a soft answer turns away wrath, while grievous words stir up anger. He recognized the power that the spoken word has. As children of the Lord, it is our responsibility to seek peace by making Godly choices by responding with a soft answer. The words you choose to respond with will influence the outcome of your conversations. In the midst of conflict choose wisely, use those words that bring calm, not anger. Understanding that you words have power be prayerful and sensitive in how you respond. What and how you share will impact the behavior of others. Choose calm, not anger. Prayer: Father, You have taught me that death and life are in the power of my tongue. I choose to speak life and life only. Therefore, I will not allow any corrupt communication to proceed out of my mouth. I will not speak evil to or of any man. My mind is renewed to align with the Word of God. I think on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely and of a good report. I have the mind of Christ and Your wisdom Father. With all these things going on inside of me, when I open my mouth You are able to use my words to edify and to minister grace to the hearers. Thank You Father for blessing me to get a hold of my tongue, to speak words of life, and to have what I say. I pray this by faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
