Food for thought: Change your Brain , Change your Life! In honor of Emmas tutu fundraiser for Brain Cancer research, I have been learning about our brains! This has impacted me greatly and helped me tremendously, hoping it will help someone else today! Thinking principals for your brain: taking control of your thoughts- 1.) Realize ur thoughts are real. Your thoughts release a chemical transmission, an electic current is transmitted across ur brain- become aware of what u r thinking- they determine how u feel and how u behave. 2.) notice how negative thoughts affect ur body. Every time u hv a negative thought, angry thought, sad thought, unkind thought or cranky thought: ur brain releases chemicals that make ur body feel bad & activate ur deep limbic system, in ur brain. Think about the last time u were mad, how did ur body feel? When most people are mad, their heart beats faster, their muscles are tense, their hands may even sweat, maybe even feel a little dizzy. Your body reacts to every negative though u have! 3.) notice how positive thoughts affect ur body? Every time u hv a happy thought, hopeful thought, kind thought - ur brain releases chemicals that make ur body feel good and cool ur deep limbic system. 4.) notice how every thought affects your body. Ur deep limbic system of ur brain is responsible for translating your emotions into physical reactions. 5.) think of bad thoughts as pollution! Thats why when people r emotionally upset, they can develop physical symptoms: head ache, stomach ache, loss of appetite, muscle fatigue from tense muscles. 6.) understand that ur automatic thoughts, dont always tell the truth! Unless u think about ur thoughts, they r automatic- they just happen. They dont always tell the whole truth, sometimes they even lie. You dont hv to believe every thought u have! Its important to think about your thoughts; to see if they help you or hurt you? Unfortunately if u never challenge ur thoughts u just believe them as if they were true! We are not taught to think about our thoughts and in-turn just leave the development of thought patterns to chance! Teaching ur self to control and direct your thoughts! KILL THE ANTS! Automatic Negative Thinking! Dont let them keep marching in! Phillipians 4:8 Finally brethren what ever is true, what ever is honorable, what ever is right, what ever is pure, what ever is lovely, what ever is of good repute, if there is any excellence, and if there is anything worthy of praise: Let your mind DWELL on these things! Wow! Light Bulb, lol Our creator designed and fashioned our brains, He knows how we think- therefor He gave us the bible, His written Word, as a compass to cope with all of lifes struggles. He cares about our thoughts!!
