For 30yrs I worked on all the machines on the frontEnd of our plant, starting with the uncoiler and ending with a trimmed can going into the washer. After the cans passed through the washer, the back-end handled the operation. For the last 16yrs of my employment, I was the Front-End Specialist on my shift. The FE spec on each crew was responsible for rebuilding the sub assemblies, the lubricators, the can making machines, trimmers and presses and to troubleshoot problems when the line mechanic needed help. Not very glamorous work, but it paid the bills and I get a decent retirement. Who could ask for more? Before this plant, i worked 5 years for another cam maker who made cans for the same customer.
