For Firefighters, Law Enforcement, EMS, Military Personnel who plan on participating in the Annual 9/11 Memorial Beach Walk Tomorrow: - We will be meeting on the strand behind the Beach Cove Resort at 4800 South Ocean Blvd between 0830-0845 hours. Vehicles can be parked at any of the City Beach Access Points. Beach Cove Resort also allows parking at their overflow lot on the corner of 48th Ave South & Ocean Blvd. Please ensure vehicles are legally parked and not parked in any other private lot unless permission is obtained from the owner. - Inspector J Ortiz will conduct a Morning Dedication & Prayer at 0900 hours and the walk will begin shortly after. - If you are wearing Firefighter Bunker Gear, please remove the inner thermal lining to prevent heat exhaustion. Please wear comfortable shoes instead of boots. -Transportation will be provided back to vehicles upon completion of the walk. - Anyone traveling in multiple vehicles wishing to park one vehicle at the finish point and one at the starting point can park around the area of 5900 North Ocean Blvd. Again please ensure vehicles are legally parked and not on any private property without owner permission. - The Walk is roughly 8 miles along the beachfront. For Spectators wishing to watch along the route. We will begin the walk shortly after 9:00 am from 4800 South Ocean Blvd. We will be posting live position updates via our Twitter Account @NMBFireRescueSC as we did last year. Feel free to come out take pictures, say hello and cheer everyone on. For Media Personnel: - If you wish to conduct any interviews with personnel, time will be allotted between 0845-0900 hours behind the Beach Cove at 4800 South Ocean Blvd. We will also be making a few pit stops along the way to allow crews to take a breather and hydrate as needed. We will announce those stops via Twitter Account but one of the stops will be at the Horseshoe at Main Street. We look forward to seeing everyone in the morning for another successful walk.
