For Immediate Release Charlottetown, PE November 6, 2013 Brain Injury Association of Prince Edward Island expanding Helmet program to include Winter Sports.Charlottetown - The Brain Injury Association of PEI (BIAPEI) is set to expand its largely successful Summer Helmet Program to include the Winter season. In partner with the Department of Education, Department of Health & Wellness, English Language School Board, Community Foundation of Prince Edward Island and Seven Star Sports, the Brain Injury Association of Prince Edward Island is proud to introduce the Winter Sports Helmet Campaign. Last summer over 200 helmets were distributed through our summer program across the Island, preventing countless injuries said Murnaghan. Helmet safety is not only important in summer activities but also winter activities such as skating, skiing and tobogganing. Murnaghan is asking all schools to support the Brain Injury Association Winter Sport Helmet Campaign, and reminding kids to protect your head. The program will start November 12th, in participating schools.
