For Sale: 4 y/o Line Back Dun maiden mare. DOB~ May 4, 2010. Peanuts breaking and training was done by Rebecca McVey of Above and Beyond Horsemanship using the Clinton Anderson method. She was started under saddle at age 3, where she got 90 days of riding, was turned out for 6 months and backed an additional 30 days at age 3.5. Shes had some obstacle course training, and loved figuring out the puzzles of the teeter totters and step ups. Peanut is very brave, willing and smart, and thinks her way through difficult challenges, she is a puzzle solver, and Ive seen no reactive side to her when shes in a tight spot. Shes been trail ridden at Taylorsville State Park, Mammoth Cave and Stampede Run on overnight trips, and been on various day rides at Hubble Park and at home. Shes been tied out, stalled and corralled. She loves the water, crosses creeks, logs and bridges. She is UTD on vaccinations, Coggins and is currently shod, stands well for bathing, the farrier and vet, loads, backs, and is always the first to come to you in the field. Shes very loving and sweet tempered and wants to please. She LOVES kids and is the low horse on the totem pole in the field. I raised her from birth to be my second horse and to be sound late into both of our lives. My intent was for her to be a Competitive Trail Horse and the horse my grandchildren would learn to ride on, however the grands show no interest in riding, and at 15.1 (and still growing) she is TOO tall for me. I absolutely love this little girl and it breaks my heart to part with her, but shes too fine an animal to allow to stand. She has NEVER been treated in a heavy handed or harsh manner, or cow-boyed, as she is sensitive and sensible, and responds well to voice correction and a bump when needed. She is versatile, has great extension, likes to jump, and has some speed to her. She would make a wonderful competitive horse, and shows potential for mounted shooting, poles, team penning or possibly barrels as she has some speed to her. Her Father was a working cow horse and she seems to be drawn to cattle, she just needs to be finished out into a discipline. Again, the only reason I am selling her is because of her height.
