For Those of you who do not know the extent of what hurricane Odile did to Cabo San Lucas please take the time to watch this video. Seeing this literally brought tears to my eyes. Over the last few years I have come to appreciate Baja and especially Cabo. I have spent some of the best times of my life with friends and loved ones on these very streets. To see it literally destroyed has me lost for words. I cannot imagine what the people stranded there are going through. No electricity, no food, no fuel and its a million degrees. I have friends there that I still have not been able to reach and have no Idea as to there well being. I wish there was something I could do. For those of you that know Joe Freeman he has gone above and beyond to help fellow captains and friends who live in Cabo. He arrived there just a few days before the hurricane hit. Our brief conversation over a scratchy satellite phone call was short and to the point. In his words Its absolute chaos here. Robbing and looting. Total anarchy. People are doing whatever they can to survive. The worst you can imagine doesnt even come close. Joe was able to transfer fuel from another yacht that was destroyed and leave Cabo with some friends. He is on his way home and I am thankful that he is safe. I dont know if it will ever be the same down there.
