For Throwback Thursday, from my second book, Unrequited - TopicsExpress

For Throwback Thursday, from my second book, Unrequited Love. Is it enough for you that I live in the basement waiting to be taken up the emotional stairs to seek the light of your life again? How long must I endure the silence of a darkened room waiting to hear your voice beckoning me to share the pleasure of your company or the comfort of your once-warm bed? Where do you keep the touch that once reminded me I was never alone? Or the smile that suggested appreciation for just having me near? Have I become part of your past living now in the absence of you? To not be near you isolates me from the world of love. How much further withdrawn will you become before I can no longer reach you? Even in darkness all I ever wanted was to be near you emotionally and physically. Now the memory grows dim without the light we once shared. How long before oxygen leaves corners of my darkened room smothering memory of our once-rich love? R. E. Smith Copyright 2006 All Rights Reserved
