For a CHANGE to come within us, we need to BELIEVE in things from our hearts. We need to be sincere with ourselves. For us to believe in something from our heart, we need to really LOVE it. For us to love it, we need to KNOW about it, inside out. For us to really know about it, we need to READ about it. And, that is the sole reason why the first revelation (the first words) which angel Gibraeel brought to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) started with the word "Read". ------------------------------- Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) followed this command, so did his (pbuh) companions and this lead them to change the whole of Arabia from Kufr to Eeman, by the will of Allah. They made sincere efforts and Allah helped them. Allah does not change the condition of a person unless he/she himself changes it. May Allah(swt) give us the ability to read like our forefathers did.
