For a long time since my childhood I have been mistreated, bullied, teased, and being made fun of and I wasnt so accepting of my disability growing up. I remember when I entered a public school for the first time at Logan Elementary most of them misjudged me because I was different than they were and that hurt my feelings. I didnt know who I was back then but all through elementary school up to high school I was practically a big joke to everyone that I was hiding in a closet for a long time and now Im coming out of that closet and accepting who I am because I was born that way. Having Down Syndrome has been the best thing that ever happen to me and I shouldnt be afraid or to hide anymore. This song gave me the inspiration of accepting who I am and I was just want to say that my name is Kate Holsen I am 28 years old and I have Down Syndrome. I do have a voice and Im not afraid to use it. I was born this way hooray. Please accept me for who I am. This is my acceptance in to the real world.
