For a starting point on truth, we have human sense-driven knowledge and the revelations in the Bible. One of the main contentions of the Bible, in its printed form as we now have it, is that it is the only direct revelation from God for all people in all times. Since the appearance and work of Jesus is the great act of God in our age, we must use the Bible as our prime authority on His work of Redemption and its significance for us today. To keep focused on making Communion effective, rather than including full discussions of many important details, we refer you to our Power Trilogy book, Discovering Our Redemption, which is a more complete study of this wonderful and Great Work of God in our Redemption by the blood of Jesus, in which we have remission of sins before God, paid in full with no debt outstanding. That is the purging, obliteration, removal and putting away of sin and the curse of sin, i.e., all the misery and the rebellion of man in the world. With the facts of our great Redemption by the blood of Jesus in mind, we should be able to take Holy Communion such that none are weak, sick, die an early death or have hard hearts toward God. While the discussion that follows has many Scriptures, the proof will be, not in an argument over theology, but in the beneficial effects of Communion you and other Christian’s experience. The world is full of books that discuss various aspects of theology but few avoid the rebuke of 1 Cor 11:30. The Bible’s main contention is that it works and the good results promised can be experienced. So the results of a more accurate theology will be groups of Christians who are significantly healthier than the general populations where these Christians live. And the evidence will be in the general statistics as measured by the national health organizations, and not a few bright points of faith. What we do in this life, how we live our lives, is a reflection of our world view. As we seek to discover what needs to change or be included in our world view and practice of Communion, this will require much repetition of Scripture and concepts throughout the discussion. What we are looking for is not more discussion, but the reality of our Redemption exhibited in lives that are strong, in divine health, and live long with hearts continually on fire for God. What you believe is what and how you are living right now. Believing = be + living. Your life right now is the reflection of what you truly believe and your world view. For Communion to become effective, you need to change what you believe and your world view to match God’s.
