For all my friends/family who are also parenting a tween/teen who is so over-eager to be so much older.. I heard this song for the first time this morning (I adore Train) and it had me in tears.. ~Dont Grow Up So Fast-- Train~ You want it all right now, its hurry up and wait.. Girl youre right on time, trust me youre not too late. I hate to see you rain, those mascara tears, but you can drown in the water beyond your years. Just dont grow up so fast, you dont wanna know what I know yet. Maybe on paper, it looks better way up here, Dont you hurry, try to take it slow, you will get there before you know it. Aint just the bad times, the good times too shall pass.. So dont grow up so fast.. The world will turn, shadows fall.. Theres your pencil marks in the corner on the kitchen wall, yeah to remind us all..... Just dont grow up so fast, you dont wanna know what I know yet. Maybe on paper, it looks better way up here.
