For all my poet friends who will begin writing a poem a day for the entire month of April, I will not be among you, but I will be reading and applauding you for the ones I can read. I think poetry month should be in the throes of winter when we have cabin fever, not in spring when we have flats to plant, walks to take. In your honor this year, I promise to work on a bit of art a day, plant something beautiful and do my best to water it in this drought.
