For all of those who desire to chat or even promote the discussion of a Single Payer Health System or the discussion of Universal Healthcare -- Do Read On -- To those who believe in Universal Healthcare or Single Payer: ======================================= --> Are we now going to in the United States impose Corporate Martial Law on certain companies in this Country ( or ) Sector Industry Martial Law only upon certain sectors ??? Then the Right could not just call it Socialism at that point they would have the justification to classify this as a Communistic style Revolt !!! We here believe in The Affordable Care Act as it is an idea of expansion and it is Capitalism at its Best considering most All Free Nations are Socialist/Capitalistic in Nature. I personally cant agree with the Dismantling our System... I see ACA as the Alteration to Improve upon our System. A Single Payer System does not Allow competition and leaves too much control in really One -- It is not Feasible in a Country like the United States -- And Doctors, Nurses, and other caretakers would protest this kind of discussion to the point of Not Assisting us all in this Country with our current Healthcare Needs !!! Those of you who believe in Single payer or even Universal Healthcare are not Realists !!! Our Admins. here believe in The Affordable Care Act..... Our room is devoted to valid Healthcare discussion and of course generally ACA only !!! Any promotional discussions for a Single payer system ( or ) Universal Healthcare should truly be mentioned elsewhere..... We Thank you for Following the boundaries of what our room is here to do: ( 1 ) Inform on items of Healthcare and ( 2 ) ACA --[ These 2 Items Only !!! ]-- The Conservative Right ( Teapublicans & GOP voters ) many on the Right are Not desiring to give The Affordable Care Act a chance to do what it intends to do in the construct of a Capitalist Republic in this Country ( The U.S.A. ) and as well there are those radical Liberals on the Left ( Libertarians & radical Democratic voters ) who dont clearly understand that we are a Capitalistic styled Republic ( Again a Hardlined Capitalist minded Nation ) that would not accept radical discussions to change the construct of our Nation )... Many Left voters are just as Bad as those on the Right who will not give The Affordable Care Act time to correct all the prior Ills to our Healthcare System. ***************************************************************** ***************************************************************** The Expansion of Medicaid is for those 138 % below the Federal poverty Line and there are many GOP controlled states not Accepting this Rule for those who Fall below this calculated % for the poverty line. Yes there are those who are on Medicare who are Elderly entitled to have Medicare or as well those on a Disability status who as well are Entitled to be on Medicare. Medicare entitlement allows you to be strictly on Medicare through the Federal Government or if a participant chooses, if eligible, the right to the selection of being on a Medicare Advantage plan..... Above described yes is Medicaid ( Programs run via each State and partly funded by the Federal Government ) and also mentioned above is Medicare which if a Federal program, Fully..... .....We here are for ACA and its progress..... We are a Capitalist Republic ( We Admins. do believe in Freedom of Enterprise and Competition )..... And do not Accept the discussed Discriminating scalpel talks to go after a particular sector, such as Healthcare, by means of dismantling companies in the Healthcare Industry via a means to a Martial Law like approach to Gut our current Healthcare system to the point where Doctors, Nurses, etc. would feel mandated to be controlled with a single system upon Healthcare, like the talk of a Universal Healthcare System. A Medicare system for all with controlled allowances and options for all Nationwide who do not agree to having a Forced system bestowed upon them. again without options and therefore varying flexibilities. Mandates upon Insurance Companies to put the proper $s into the Healthcare System with rules like the 80/20 Rule, we have Agreement upon. ( At least the Admins. of this Room, I understand share these same Thoughts )... Regarding: EMTALA, I personally do agree with the EMTALA provision, but the GOP at the time didnt thoroughly look into the problems that would be created within the Healthcare system without creating a Law like The Affordable Care Act back then in the year of 1986 in conjunction to having the EMTALA provision that was enacted back in the year of 1986 !!! Again Here to Note: ============ We do here understand that many in this Country ( The United States of America ) have Financial concerns and therefore do cheer on this discussion of looking forward to the possible day of a so called Medicare for All ( aka Universal Healthcare )..... Yes this may appear idealistic, but do Note the Flaw in your Medicare for All discussion additionally..... Medicare truly, again truly Medicare like Social Security Income ( SSI ) is Not an Entitlement. Through Employment we and our Employers pay into the contributions that consist of SSI & Medicare and these two programs are Not Entitlement programs as it is misconstrued and stated by the many to be Entitlements. These discussions of statements like Medicare for All are Flawed discussions by many within this Country !!! ***************************************************************** ***************************************************************** What the ( FPL ) Federal Poverty Levels Used For ? ============================== Federal Poverty Levels ( which are also called Federal Poverty Guidelines, Federal Poverty Line or simply ( FPL ) are used to see if you qualify for cost assistance when buying insurance through your State Health Insurance Marketplace. They are also used to see if you are eligible for Medicaid ( Though this depends on rules adopted by your State ), it give exemptions from the requirement to purchase insurance, or to see if you will have to pay some of the Affordable Care Acts taxes on higher earners. As a rule of thumb if your family income is less than ( 4x ) Four times the published Federal Poverty Guideline ( 400 % of FPL ) for your household size, and you are Not eligible for employer or other public assisted healthcare ( such as Medicaid or Medicare ), you will be able to receive premium subsidies to help you purchase affordable insurance through your States Health Insurance Marketplace. Although technically a tax credit which you will receive when you file your 2014 tax return, a tax credit advance will be paid directly to the insurance provider you choose, reducing the monthly premium you have to pay. If at the end of the year your income turns out to be more or less than expected the tax credit will be adjusted and added to or taken from any tax refund or payment due. • If you make less than four times (400% of the FPL ) you may qualify for reduced premiums through the marketplace due to advanced premium tax credits. • If your income is below two and a half times ( 250 % ) the FPL you qualify for a policy with reduced deductibles, co-payments and lower maximum out of pocket costs. • If you Live in a State that has agreed to expand Medicaid, and your household income is up to 138 % of the relevant FPL you probably qualify for Medicaid. In States that dont expand Medicaid the threshold is between 100%-133% although many more restrictions apply to eligibility aside from income. Here is a chart of the new poverty level guidelines and the thresholds for qualifying for Medicaid coverage or premium assistance for private insurance in 2014: Federal Poverty Guidelines for 2014: ====================== ( 1 ) --- $ 11,670 --- $ 16,105 --- $ ..46,680 --- ( 2 ) --- $ 15,730 --- $ 21,707 --- $ ..62,920 --- ( 3 ) --- $ 19,790 --- $ 27,310 --- $ ..79,160 --- ( 4 ) --- $ 23,850 --- $ 32,913 --- $ ..95,400 --- ( 5 ) --- $ 27,910 --- $ 38,516 --- $ 111,640 --- ( 6 ) --- $ 31,970 --- $ 44,119 --- $ 127,880 --- ( 7 ) --- $ 36,030 --- $ 49,721 --- $ 144,120 --- ( 8 ) --- $ 40,090 --- $ 55,324 --- $ 160,360 --- Persons in Household 2014 Federal Poverty Level for the Continental U.S. Medicaid Eligibility ( 138 % of FPL ) Premium subsidy threshold ( 400% of FPL ) ***************************************************************** *****************************************************************
