For all of those who just got a shiny Sony and/or Microsoft Console, ie PlayStation, Xbox, And couldnt get online, log in or anything of the like, it was due to a DDoS attack by The Lizard Squad. A DDoS attack isnt a hack, but just a overload of servers using artificial traffic to simulate people logging in online. One of a supposed member of Lizard Squad going by the name of Ryan got on Sky News to let people know the reason they did what they did was to show that security is low at the companies. However he was giggling the entire time of the interview, which is sure to make some people unhappy if you were affected as i was. They stopped the attack due to creator of Megaupload, Kim Dotcom, giving them 3000 premium accounts for his new site Mega. The Services are slowly being restored even as of now, with people being able to get online and play their new gifts. If you want to see the Interview with Ryan of Lizard Squad Link is below.
