For all those who think cooking is time consuming, expensive, and too hard........... I sent this email to my brother in college. It will be in my notes as well All things are made with olive oil (get garlic infused), Salt and Pepper (get fresh ground,) lemon and some soy sauce. Meats: Pork loin or drumsticks/thighs - rub with olive oil (infused with garlic is even better), and sprinkle with salt and pepper (fresh ground of both is better). (for the chicken - you can opt to add some soy sauce or squeeze some lemon all over it) Heat oven to 425. For pork loin- only 15 minutes. DONE For chicken - 25 minutes DONE Whole chicken (cheap) Rub with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper, stuff a lemon in two halves inside the cavity...... oven 325 for two hours, or 425 for 45-60 minutes Steak (skirt or flank is cheap) Marinate in 1 cup soy sauce mixed with 1 tsp white vinegar. Sear (quickly on a pan on the stove) for about 4 minutes each side. DONE Sausage Italian sausage links (mild or hot if youre sassy). Slice, saute in a pan on the stove and serve with noodles tossed in balsamic vinegar and olive oil (sausage also tastes good with brown rice) Veggies Slice a yellow onion, and mix with any kind of potato. (If you chose sweet potatoes - add a chopped apple). Toss these veggies with olive oil and salt and pepper (same rules apply as above) Roast at 425 for 10 minutes (or so - stick a fork in it to see if its tender) You can also saute all of the above as well. You can saute some fresh broccoli with soy sauce....... Pastas Any kind of noodle tossed with a little butter and olive oil. Maybe even some parmesan (fresh is best) Sides - white rice (super ez to make and super cheap) topped with a fried egg over medium. (I serve this with the flank steak) Make extra white rice so you can make fried rice later in the week. Soy sauce, scrambled egg, and veggies (carrots, broccoli, green onion, red onion, red pepper, or anything else left over ) and throw in some left over meat from the week..... a full meal I dont want to hear youre hungry anymore!
