For all you camel archers out there, this should be of interest. It says it is from the Metropolitan Museum. Can anyone clarify if this is the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York or another? The location of the camel driver behind the archer seems a little impractical, not to say precarious, however dont be distracted by the extreme variation in size between the two. Using scale to indicate status was very common in ancient art and that is all this means here - the archer is higher status than the camel driver. I recall at least one of the Assyrian reliefs in the British Museum also depicts camel-borne archers. I wonder if the present-day mounted archery community is ready for this yet?
