For all you pet owners in Jordan, I share your frustration in the lack of proper services for our family members. I have been dealing with Aleef Express أليف إكسبرس since December of 2013, and unfortunately was faced with a situation where not only were they not informed in certain requirements for pet travel, but they vaccinated my dog WITHOUT my permission earlier last month, picked him up and dropped him off late, used dirty grooming machines which caused small infected bumps on his skin, gave the vaccine wrong which caused a huge lump on his neck... AND lied about where they even gave the vaccine! I was hoping for a proper apology from the CEO Sufian Horani, but received a few lines 10 days later without any suggestion of how he will remedy such issues at his company. I have been debating of how to reply to him, and whether to post this or not, but I decided people should know what happened. I am now dealing with The Human Center for Animal Welfare and they are just wonderfully cooperative, well-informed and they have great doctors and needed machines for pets on their premises. Here is my reply and the email: Dear Sufian, I am deeply disappointed with the issues faced with Aleef Express. With time, I have come to discover more lies and mistakes which you have made with my dog, Everest: 1) Aleef Express was asked for the process and requirements for me to be able to travel with Everest to Austria and the USA; the response was he will need a rabies test, and the results will come out after 21 days and I can travel right away. 2) Everest was picked up on Saturday, August 9th, for full grooming and a request for a rabies test. 3) Odai told me that the test may not show proper results since his vaccine was 8 months ago; I requested from him to let me know if that was the case, and we will see what will happen. 4) Everest was picked up at 10:30 (despite a 10:00 pickup confirmation) and I was informed that he will be returned by noon.) 5) Everest was returned after 2:00 that day; I was not home, so the helper received him. 6) I came home around 3pm and found Everest tired, and wanting to sleep... and getting aggressive when I try to touch his face; I thought maybe he was hurt from the grooming. 7) That afternoon, I asked Quintessentially to confirm with Aleef that the rabies test was given; I was informed in the evening that in fact, he was vaccinated for rabies (without my permission!) and now I will have to wait 44 days before being able to perform the rabies test which will take another 21 days before the results come out. I was extremely shocked and upset, as this one done without my permission and without even informing me!!! The next morning, I was informed that the vaccine was even given at the Humane Center for Animal Welfare. 8) A few days later, I found a small insect on his body and took me 30 minutes noticed small bumps on his body and a big one on his neck; I was concerned, so I called a vet to do a house visit; he informed me the small bumps were from the grooming machine and might have gotten infected; the big one was from a vaccine shot given the wrong way!! For the insect, he gave Everest few drops for anti flee and tick. 9) When I told him about the story regarding me trying to travel with Everest, the vet confirmed that indeed that was not the process at all... Instead, Everest is supposed to be microchipped at the time of vaccine, and after 30 days the test can be done, and travel can only be done to the EU 90 days post vaccine!!! I was once again shocked that Aleef Express, claiming to be experts in this domain, did not know this in the first place. 10) I took Everest a week later to the Humane Center for Animal Welfare to get microchipped, and when we spoke, they realized that Aleef did NOT come to get Everest vaccinated there, and indeed even did not stamp nor sign the vaccine label on his vaccine book, AND they wrote the date of vaccination wrong (August 8 instead of 9)!!!!!! 11) By that time, we realized I will not have enough time to go to Vienna for the time I had to be there, so we decided to just prepare the paperwork for the US. 12) When Aleef was asked what Doctor vaccinated Everest at the Center, Dr. Odai said he had called the doctor for a consultation and did not vaccinate him there; again, the Dr. said that Odai never called her. In conclusion, it is appalling that these events occurred with Aleef, firstly performing anything medical on a pet without the consent of the owner, it is like vaccinating someones child without the permission of the parent!!! Secondly, that they do not even know the proper process of what is needed to take an animal abroad. Thirdly, that the grooming machines were dirty enough to cause such an infection on his skin. Fourthly, that there is a total lack of respect for appointment times. And lastly and more importantly, that there is a blatant will to LIE and hide facts from the clients only to make excuses and cover your backs. I was very excited that such a service was started in Jordan, with the expectation that utmost care and true knowledge and expertise would characterize your business, but I am truly disappointed that unfortunately, you are just another business claiming to be experts in your field. I will never be working with Aleef again for any services for Everest, and I will make sure that everyone knows about this experience. I highly suggest you spend some time in Jordan to fix your internal issues and ensure that peoples pets whom they view part of their family, are truly in safe expert hands, and are treated with utmost care. This is truly sad.
