For an upcoming photoshoot I want to do I need to get a small but powerful light source coming out of an object small enough to be held in the hand BEHIND a perfume bottle, so that it looks like the light source is the perfume bottle itself. Ive tried making a light tube/snoot thing to fit onto a flash gun, but decided that would get crushed during the shoot and not work to transmit light around a bend (of the models body) as she lay down with it behind her. So then I tried using a 3Watt LED torch I had lying around, shining or reflecting its light through the bottle onto the face. This didnt work either as it meant having to shoot with a long shutter speed/wide open aperture or very high ISO, which is not what I wanted. So I went back to the flash idea and decided to hack an old Hannimex hammerhead flash unit I had lying around found nothing and at last I think I have a workable solution. Check it out.
