For any of you Dan Fogelberg fans out there. I found a great Dan Fogelberg live concert from 1976 on YouTube. Truly a shame he died so young. He really was great. From back in the days when music held a much more significant level of depth in our culture. Back when listening to music wasnt a something in the background concept. But, the same as like watching a movie. Where you approached it with reverence, and gave it your complete undivided attention, in listening. I remember riding my bike up to Music Den at Hilltop North Shopping Center and buying Dan Fogelbergs albums, particularly, Captured Angel. Then taking the album home, putting in on the turn table, then laying on the floor, with the stereo speakers on the floor on each side of me and listening to the album for hours. Taking in the nuance of every single musical note, vocal inflection, guitar lick, the organic dynamics of each instruments performance. Listening to music was once a truly spiritual experience. Fogelbergs songs expressed the true inner sentiments within us, the vulnerability inside we all carry, the things you would find yourself subconsciously smiling when listening to his songs. They painted a panoramic widescreen picture in your head, you own private move viewing... all created through his words and music. Its very hard to find that kind of spiritual depth in todays pop culture formula songwriting. If you have a Roku or internet TV, pull this video up and watch it without distraction and let it transform you the same as watching a movie. youtu.be/LxXFQ5OSEDk
