For anybody connected with the Clondalkin Helping Homeless Group, I have been denied permission to post this on the closed group page. I believe this is down to the fact that I challenged Councillor Timmons over issues of concern last week, and clearly this did not bode well. I have spent countless hours over the past month or so, doing voluntarily work for the homeless as I believe it is everyones social right to do so and I do it without seeking praise or approval. I would be grateful if any of the remaining members can shed some light on this for me please. This is what I tried to post. Dear Group Members, I would like to voice my concern and curiosity about the new table roster where community members who wish to volunteer are being refused permission to do so. I have offered my services and have politely been told that they are not needed as every night is full on the table. Im wondering can someone please clarify at what meeting out was agreed that only the people would work each night? Surely that is a decision that should have been made by the collective of volunteers? As I previously questioned, and it was confirmed, this is a COMMUNITY GROUP of which I am a willing and voluntary member and I was not informed of a meeting to discuss same. It leaves me to question, and actually I will go further and state, that it is now my belief that I am being frozen out of the group after challenging certain issues last week on this forum. As, at the last meeting, there was no official committee elected Im wondering who has the authority to make such decisions and decide who can and cannot help. I would like to state for the record that I got my days mixed up last night, and actually believed that today was Monday so therefore, I will hold my hands up and admit my mistake and take full responsibility for this. However when I questioned today why no one rang me to ask where I was or was anything the matter, the message went unanswered. Again, all I can do is apologize profusely for my error. Therefore I would be very grateful if someone could inform me of the date of the next meeting as I, as a concerned community member, would like to attend as there are issues that I would like to discuss and decisions I would like to challenge, as is my democratic right . I have also noted that the settings on this page have been changed so that administration need to approve posts now and I can confirm that if this post does not get approval from the page, that I will have no other option to challenge it publicly on my own Facebook page.
