For anyone calling for israel to take more steps to avoid civilian casualties, skip to 1:40...israel sends message by text, phone call and leaflets telling the civilians to go to one of the safe zones away from the attack, often even cancels missions (because contrary to what you hear on the news the IDF is not a bloodthirsty monster and aims to minimize civilian casualties). My point is, its easy to sit and be an armchair critic, but the fact is that israel takes every possible step to minimize casualties. unfortunately, as it is a civilian area and hamas hide within the palestinian people, its impossible to avoid civilian casualties completely. the retired british soldier sums it up when he says he hears alot of criticism from world leaders saying that israel must do more to avoid civilian casualties, but nobody offers any ideas of how to do that, because there is no more it can do. the world doesnt seem to care when hamas fires on israel, but when israel fires back then in the worlds eyes it immediately must stop all military activity. if israel stops, then it is the same principle as giving into terrorist demands, this conflict sets the precedent for the future of combatting islamic fundamentalism. if they know all they need to do is shoot from civilian populations and their enemy cant retaliate, then we may as well open the door to a future of terror.
