For anyone that cares about the conditions and management of the Genesee County Animal Shelter, this is a must read. Nathan Winogard has been our nations leading advocate for the No Kill movement and proved over and over again that with compassionate direction and a can do attitude, that great things are possible. Unfortunately, in our community, the animals that are held in our shelter have been forever victimized by apathetic attitudes towards their welfare by management, staff and a majority of our Board of Commissioners who establish policy. This year, the animal advocates in our community will be rolling up our sleeves and going to work to bring our county shelter out of the dark ages and into the light as a progressive shelter employing modern practices. Armed with an animal friendly majority on the BOC and with the blessing from concerned citizens that voted for a millage last November to support much needed changes at GCAC, with your help, will transform our shelter from a statewide embarrassment to a source of community pride and we would love to have all of you along for the ride !!
