For anyone wanting to visit Vegas, what ever you do, do not spend all your time on the strip. There is so much to see out here and much of it is free. So if your coming out here dont forget to throw a rental car into the package, yea traffic on the strip sucks but you can get around it on the side streets a few blocks off the strip. Driving out here is not for the faint of heart either but well worth the mobility factor. Most of the hotels have free parking also. We have put over 700 miles on our rental VW Jetta. The 2.5L is a little on the sluggish side for my liking but more than capable of cruising 120mph on the interstate. Not to mention the fact we spent over 100 bucks in cab fair from the airport to the hotel and then to the far north east side of town to pick up the rental car. Cheap buffets are not a thing of the past, however to find one you have to get off the strip. The best value we found for a meal on the strip was at the Mad Onion located in the Hooters Casino, they have a prime rib dinner for $10.99 every night and if your into buffets the Rail Road Pass Casino near Hoover Dam has $8.99 buffet that is kick ass. The buffet at the Luxor was way over priced like everything else in the strip casinos and I actually felt for the price of $26 a person it sucked.
