For anyone who has the Oasis brand humidification products... with springs arrival and increased atmospheric humidity on the rise, youre less likely to need to humidify in New England this time of year. However this was a rough, cold, dry, winter that wreaked havoc with a lot of nice instruments. Only occasionally humidifying your instrument, and then leaving it out in a stand for a week or more in the dead of winter, hanging it on a wall while your baseboard or forced hot air heating system is set to 70 degrees, or (in one case we are aware of) hanging it in the barn by the wood stove...will cause damage to your instrument not covered under warranty (cracks, sunken tops, neck warping, frets lifting, etc). Some of this drying out can be reversed somewhat by humidifying religiously now. But also please be aware the gel crystals inside of the Oasis OH-1 and OH-5 need to be replaced after a while.
