For anyone who knows me well, they know that theres nothing Im more afraid of than Snakes. For years, when its warm, summer time, if I go in the grass, every step I take , is with my head down observing for whats in the pathway of my next step. Ive tried to do better with the babies being little and playing outside with them. If they go to the swingset to swing, I go before them and check it out all around before being comfortable letting them freely run around....with that being said, This garden exploration is Mind blowing to me...these rows of corn that are over my head and cant see the exit from the middle plays tricks with my head..I love learning all this unknown territory of canning, etc...but I need a valium to go get the veggies...but ...I havent ...I am going for it...today as I stood with my capris and Knee High White Socks and mud covered Tennis shoes...I looked at all the beans to be picked and just went for it ! I stuck my hands in everywhere, weeds all around...when I thought about what might be lurking in there, I just said, this has to be done..and I will not let my fears create being wasteful with what weve worked so hard to accomplish...I got on the tractor when I was finished and low and behold...a Grey Fox came off the hill and straight into the garden...I needed to finish cutting the cabbage..I started the lawn mower and turned the blades on and went around the garden probably 8 rounds trying to scare it out and I never did see it run...thats what Im saying about being in the center of these long rows with no end on either side...Mercy ..help me to get this job done without going Coo Coo for Coco Puffs !
