For anyone who signed up for Directv service who were provided with free NFL Sunday Ticket who had no interest in football or have watched any NFL programming since your service began, please make sure that you understand that the NFL Sunday Ticket will renew at their $40 a month for 6 month charge at the start of the next season. Many people who look for simplicity choose auto-pay and e-bill services. If you are like me, as long as the charges are consistent from month to month, you dont scrutinize your bill. So... the 3 month notices that only come through on the bill that your NFL ticket is going to renew go unnoticed until the renewal goes into place. But, their policy is that once the season starts (after the first bill with the increased amount shows up) you can not remove the charges for the full season of $240. After my fun escapades of riddling the phone staff of how crappy their policy of bilking people for unwanted services and a single email of criticism of how shitty their policy is, they agreed to refund me the total amount. If anyone gets a customer service person who says there is nothing they can do, please reference my experience. Here is the full text of my email and response:
