For every story there is a back story. You simply do not arrive at any point in time as if by magic. There are a series of events both internal and external that have brought you to where you are now. Same is true with NY city choke hold victim Eric Garner. Without focusing on the pros or cons of the event we have been seeing on the news, there is a back story here that I think is a major precipitating back story that brought Eric to his date with destiny that has been ignored and that is the sale of loose cigarettes. Cigarettes sale for about $5 per pack of 20 or about $.25 each. Now I have to ask myself why would a grown man be selling loose cigarettes for only pennies?????? What could possibly be the motive - certainly not money at this exchange rate. I have heard of people hogging out small cigars, stuffing them with pot and smoking them in public without arousing suspicion. Could Eric have been enhancing the value of his cigarettes with something of more value like crack, cocaine, PCP, LSD or some other illicit drug???? The inevitable answer is --- YES. This is the only rationale for anyone to be involved in such an activity. It also explains why he did not want to be arrested and it also explains why police wanted to take a closer look at what he was doing. In the end Erics own activities brought him to his own destiny. I also know from personal experience that when you are being choked, you can not talk in a clear and distinct voice even once much less eleven times that you can not breathe. I also know from experience often that when a person is having a fatal hearth attack that they say I can not breathe over and over. The final judgment is yours. I say that we are all in charge of our own final destiny and it is the steps you decided to take along your pathway of life that will take you to yours. MAKE WISE STEPS!!!!!
