For first time, Pinoy qualifies for Winter Olympics ABS-CBNnews MANILA, Philippines – Figure skater Michael Christian Martinez became the first Filipino to qualify for the Winter Olympics after securing a spot in the final qualifying event for the 2014 Sochi Games.
