For group discussion. This is the gist of an article I read in AARP from Dr. Geoffrey Greif, author of the Buddy System: Understanding Male Friendships, that needs to be shared among my MA Brothers & students (Sisters are invited to read this too-:) and friends. Did you know that men choose friends almost like tools on a utility belt? I didnt! Did you know that . . . A must friend is the first to get a call after a hole in one Or a tough diagnosis. A trust friend is well regarded and loyal but not quite the inner circle. Just friends are passing acquaintances, while rust friends stand the test of time--even if they sometimes cant stand each other. The last group is the strongest, Greif says. Even if rust friends dont see each other for decades, theyll pick up again like kids. We all like to cling to having a long life, filled with happiness and continued prosperity. Ever think how many rust friends you have as opposed to the others? To me a friend is the golden link in the chain of life. I value each and every one of you that has taken time to engage in a conversation here and on my other pages and groups. I enjoy reading your posts and receiving your emails and asking me to post certain things/topics for you. I think Facebook and other social media sites have brought the whole world lots closer, which in many ways is a good thing. We skype, chat, send photos and videos and really get to know one another by seeing ones past, present and future. I thank each one of you for being in my life and supporting my passion and hopefully yours too, of spreading and preserving the traditional martial arts for future generations who want to discover their roots and lineage before it is lost and gone forever. Blessings to you and your family and remember your Rust friends need to hear from you more often. Big huzz and lots of luv--Your friend. ASL
