For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (2 Cor. 5:21) The revelation that changed my life was the revelation of righteousness. I remember the moment that God spoke 2 Cor. 5:21 into my heart. A doctrinal position became a living reality. I was righteous, as righteous as Jesus Himself. A gift was given to mankind and I chose to believe it and receive it. For if by one mans offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. (Rom. 5:17) Not only is righteousness a gift that we receive by faith, it also has very real consequences in this life. It empowers us to reign in life! The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: (Prov. 11:6) Righteousness gives us the right to stand in and live in the presence of God without guilt or condemnation. It also gives us the authority to stand in the presence of sickness, corruption, and the works of the devil without fear. To the degree that we understand the power of righteousness, we can prevail in every situation. Just as sin released the destruction of the enemy into the earth, righteousness binds him. He is powerless against the reborn, sinless nature of Christ in us. No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD. (Isa. 54:17) It is time for believers to rise up and reign in life. His righteousness is all you need to have dominion. Don’t let fear mold you into its image. Grow in the revelation of righteousness and be more than a conqueror!
