“For love of country they accepted death, and thus resolved all - TopicsExpress

“For love of country they accepted death, and thus resolved all doubts, and made immortal their patriotism and their virtue.” James Garfield, Major General (USA) and future President of the United States, spoke those words at Arlington Cemetery in 1868. They still ring true today as we honor the memory and the legacy of all deceased veterans. Originally a commemoration known as Decoration Day, a day to honor those who fell in the Civil War, the holiday became known as Memorial Day and remembers deceased veterans of all conflicts. We honor them by marking their graves with flags or flowers, flying the U.S. flag at half-staff until noon on Memorial Day, participating in a National Moment of Remembrance at 3 PM local time and with parades and ceremonies. We hope you enjoy your holiday. Please stay safe and know that we proudly honor the service of our residents and their families.
